Paul Whittle - FCA As his name suggests Paul was the founding partner of the practice. Prior to setting up the firm Paul worked for a local firm and before that trained in London. Paul specialises in advising clients on how to grow their businesses and then on how to preserve the wealth that they have built up. He is our VAT expert. On a personal front Paul likes nothing better than a round of golf or a sail at West Mersea to unwind from the stresses and strains of office life.

Richard Ward - FCA Richard joined forces with Paul in the early nineties having previously been a partner in another local firm, having also trained in London. He has built up significant expertise and experience in the areas of family businesses and the use of trusts in tax planning. Out of the office Richard enjoys life on the tennis court, and rowing on the local river.

Tim Moriarty - FCA Tim joined Whittle & Co in the mid nineties from another Colchester firm in which he was a partner. He specialises in acting for family companies, farming concerns and forensic accounting. Tim is an active member of Colchester Golf Club, but still finds time to sit on the board of three local charities.

Rachel Skells – FCA, CTA, TEP Rachel trained in London and subsequently moved back to the area joining Whittle & Co in 2002. On the accountancy front she specialises in financial services and charity clients. She is  a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and currently joint chair of the local branch. Rachel recently qualified as a Trusts and Estates Practioner and enjoys advising clients on the finer points of tax ranging from corporate issues, through personal, trust and estate issues.

Senior Staff

Martin Borgartz - FCCA Martin has been with the firm since the early days and spends much of his time helping clients set up and operate their computer systems. When he is not doing that he is busy preparing accounts and performing audits for our wide range of clients.

Louisa Tippett – ACA Louisa runs our West Mersea office which provides a full range of accountancy and tax services to the local community. She specialises in charity clients.

Caroline Harvey – ACCA, CTA Caroline joined the firm straight from school and qualified in record time. She must have been one of the youngest Chartered Tax Advisers to qualify. She is currently heading up our personal tax department whilst keeping her hand in on the accounts and audit front.
