ICAEW BASE 2017 - Dan Insley mentors St Joseph’s to third place in national finals

Congratulations to the team from St Joseph’s School in Ipswich and the students’ recent success in BASE 2017, the ICAEW’s business and accounting competition for students aged 16-19 years old.

Having won the Ipswich heat, one of over 40 across the country, St Joseph’s were on their way to the National Finals in Birmingham ending the day in a very commendable joint third place.

The  competition involved a fictitious challenge where the students were asked to act as ICAEW chartered accountants, focusing on key employability skills to develop business advice for a media organisation and delivered this to their board of directors.

Mentoring the St. Joseph’s team throughout the process was Whittles’ Dan Insley: “I was very impressed by the high level of engagement and enthusiasm of the team.  They deserved their success and if any one of them decides to follow up on a career in accountancy, I’m sure they will prove a great asset to the profession.”
