Whittles chooses St Helena Hospice as its 2018/9 charity

11th June 2018

Every financial year, the partners of Essex accountancy firm Whittles nominate a local charity to benefit from and to provide a focus for its fundraising activity throughout the year. The firm is delighted to announce that the 2018/9 charity is St Helena Hospice in Colchester.

Rachel Skells, Whittles’ partner explains the choice of charity:
“There are so many good causes in the communities in which we all live and work and they all deserve our backing. This year we asked our staff to nominate a charity they would like us to support and St Helena was a clear favourite.”

St Helena Hospice helps local people with an incurable illness to live well and die with dignity and choice. It supports patients and families across north Essex at its 16 bed Inpatient Unit in Colchester, the two centres in Colchester and Clacton and also in the home. St Helena is not just a building; the majority of its care is out in the community, making sure people can live the best possible lives they can at home.

St Helena’s Corporate Fundraising Manager Sarah Wilson was delighted that St Helena Hospice was chosen as Whittles’ nominated charity: “The business community plays a vital role in supporting the work of St Helena.  It is not just about the much-needed funding but also about spreading the word about what we do and helping to highlight in particular our work in the community. We look forward to working with the Whittles’ team.”
