Whittles has been part of the wider Colchester community for over 25 years.  As a significant North Essex business we believe we have a responsibility to encourage and support charitable, arts, sporting and community projects aimed at benefitting the lives of the people who work and live in the community we are happy to share.

Some recent community projects in which we have recently been involved:

Annual nominated charity

Every financial year we nominate a local charity to benefit from and to provide a focus for, our fundraising activity throughout the year.

 

The 2016/17 charity is The Essex Air Ambulance.

 

 

The 2015/6 charity was the Cirdan Sailing Trust.

 

The 2013/5 charity was The Ark Centre, Harwich.

 

 

Autism Anglia   

The 2012/13 charity was Autism Anglia.

 

 

The Tendring Hundred Show  

Whittle & Co sponsors the Tendring Hundred Show.

 

 

 

Essex Wildlife Trust       

Whittles is a Silver Corporate members of the county's leading conservation charity, which has 8 Visitor Centres, 87 Nature Reserves, 2 Nature Parks and manage 7,250 acres of land.

 Friends of the Moot hall organ appeal 

The Friends of the Moot Hall Organ’ want to bring back into use the organ that was built especially for the Moot Hall and that was first publicly played when the Town Hall was officially opened on 15th May 1902. There are over 2000 pipes in the organ and you can adopt one or more at just £10 a foot! Whittle & Co was pleased to support this great cause to the tune of 10 feet!

 

 Colne Valley Youth Orchestra 

Whittles helped The Colne Valley Youth Orchestra (CVYO) celebrate its 30th anniversary by jointly sponsoring its Gala Concert and party at the Moot Hall on September 4 2011.  

 

On the Run
 
Runners from Whittles regularly take part in the “Race for Business”  - the popular annual fundraising event organised by  law firm Birketts and the “Run4Fun” event run by Birkett Long.
